Dr. Donna Smoots is the 2023 recipient of the Dr. Sue B. Adams Leadership Award presented by AAPASS for her dedication and advocacy for at-risk students over the past 49 years.
(Dr. Adams was a pioneer in the area of Prevention and Support with the Alabama State Department of Education. Her expertise, concern, and knowledge of student safety, attendance, discipline, dropout prevention, discovering ways to help all students, and especially those considered “at-risk.”)
