Tomasina Smitherman serves as the Special Education Coordinator for Gadsden City School System, where she oversees programs and services designed to support students with diverse learning needs. With 28 years of experience in education, she is dedicated to ensuring that all students have access to individualized instruction, appropriate supports, and opportunities to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Mrs. Smitherman holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Jacksonville State University, a Master’s degree in School Library Media, an Education Specialist (Ed.S.) degree in Collaborative Special Education, as well as certification in Educational Leadership.
